Packing List
General – Less is more. Please pack lightly and try to use just one suitcase/bag. The only thing predictable about the weather at the end of October is that it is unpredictable. Be prepared for sunny, hot days. There is a chance that it might rain. All routes will leave as scheduled, rain or shine. Please check the weather report before the ride.
Riders:
- Cycling shorts, Cycling shoes, Cycling gloves
- We are providing two cycling jerseys. We are also providing a vest to be worn over your own cycling shirts on the days that you do not wear the ALYN cycling jerseys for identification. It is mandatory to wear ALYN 2017 cycling jerseys on the first and last day of the ride.
- Bicycle helmet – PLEASE PUT YOUR NAME ON IT
- Knee and elbow protectors
- Sweatbands
- Socks
- Cycle bag – a small waist or back bag (you will not have access to your suitcase or bag during the day)
- Maps – We are not providing printed maps or charts. Please print the “day pages” (map, elevations, description) and bring them with you.
- Spare inner tube, a simple set of tools and derailleur hanger suitable for your bike. Off-Road: spare brake disc pads.
- Sunscreen
- Vaseline, A&D or talcum powder (against chafing)
- Touring riders: Small bag with comfortable clothes and shoes for touring.
Riders & volunteers:
- Water – Please come equipped with two bottles full with water or a full water backpack
- OVERSEAS Participants need to have their passport and insurance information on them at all times
- ISRAELIS need their identity card and kupat cholim card
- Sunglasses, Hat, Sun-Cream
- Lip balm / insect repellant
- Band-Aid and medications
- Camera
- Snacks, and if you choose: electrolyte replacement ( gel, isotonic drink powder etc- it helps to increase energy and reduce – ‘dry out’)
- Raingear
- Toilet paper, wet wipes and Personal Hygiene Items
- Comfortable Shoes/ Sneakers
- Casual Clothes for relaxing in the evenings
- Casual Attire- There will be a ‘special’ celebration (bring suitable clothing for the occasion)
- Spare eyeglasses or contact lenses
- Money- you will not need much. NIS 500 will be plenty (Take into account that while the mechanics service is free any bicycle parts that they supply are your responsibility.)
- Credit Card
- Ear plugs (for those noisy roommates)
- Alarm clock
- Bathing suit, swimming goggles
- Laundry bag, Laundry detergent, Rope to put up clothes line Volunteers: You will receive 5 T-shirts to wear on the Ride
Lost property- It is amazing what people lose, so do take care of your possessions and label them with your name, especially cameras.
